Occurrence in the Body
Kalium jodatum – also known as potassium iodide – is a chemical compound naturally found in iodine-rich minerals, as well as in seawater and marine organisms. Iodine is an essential trace element required in the thyroid gland for the synthesis of thyroid hormones. We primarily obtain iodine through food sources such as iodised table salt, seafood, fish, dairy products, and eggs.

The 15th Schuessler salt, potassium iodatum, can help with complaints associated with the thyroid gland. It can also be useful in cases of depression, tearfulness and pessimism as well as high blood pressure, tachycardia and the urge to clear the throat.
Good to know:
If potassium iodatum is used for thyroid complaints, Schuessler salt No. 14 (potassium bromatum) should be taken for a week in preparation (7-10 tablets daily). It should always be taken in consultation with a doctor or mineral counsellor.

Note for diabetics:
48 tablets correspond to one bread unit.
Recommended usage:
Adults and children over 12 years: Allow 1 tablet to dissolve in the mouth 1–3 times daily.
For acute symptoms: Take 1 tablet every 3–5 minutes.
It is recommended to take the tablet 10 minutes before or after a meal.
